The Great Tomb of Nazarick~!
The home of Ainz Ooal Gown, and the starting point from which The Sorcerer Kingdom was born!
. . . The kingdom was growing at an exponential rate, his influence attracting more and more citizens to his land. With the kingdom of Re Estes decimated, and the Baharuth Empire now pledging themselves a Vassal State to lord Ainz, everything is going as well as it possibly could, that is…except for one thing that he is missing. Something that Demiurge had brought to his attention not too long ago…he needs an Heir.
An heir to the throne. A legacy by which Nazarick can be passed should anything ever happen to him.
. . . Truth be told, Ainz really hadn’t put much thought into anything of the sort until just recently. Of course back in YGGDRASIL, this was all merely a game with no real threats or stakes, certainly nothing worthy to ever consider lines of succession? Aside from role play purposes if he’d wanted to make an NPC with the lore in their settings…and oh, how he wished something so easy was still an option.
It had never occurred to him that it might become a necessity even for sometime after they’d arrived here in this strange, new world. As he incrementally built his knowledge on the parameters of this world bit by bit, even having already confirmed the existence of world level items thanks to the events with Shalltear! But even then, what if there was something more out there? More world level Items? Or even other players brought to this world, ones with a very real capability of bringing him down…?
. . . THAT- is why finding an heir has now registered to the sorcerer king as imperative to preserving Nazarick’s longevity. All of his many subordinates have already made it clear that they would not survive without someone worthy to rule over them, nor would they intend to. And a great majority have also expressed great joy at the prospect of having another lord to serve if Ainz’s succession.
Without Ainz Ooal Goen, what would become of his Great Tomb of Nazarick, the home he’s fought so hard to build and protect? No. He needed to create a lien of succession! But with his body of an Elder Lich being undead and incapable of procreating, along with the fact doing so across species is also impossible…he needs to do something drastic, and with the special programs Demiurge has been researching…he had found a solution…
. . . Demiurge has been working diligently for months ever since he brought the topic of succession up to the lord, and now as Lord Ainz has been questioning on the topic, he wasted no time inviting the Sorcerer King up to the 7th floor of the tomb where his subordinates have made great strides on the subject. So as Ainz browses the facility where the research is being done, Demiurge’s grin is practically grinding his teeth in excitement. . . .
“-and so we’ve been utilizing the data gathered from the experiments on the eastern Hydras. Now with the results, I believe we’ve finally reached a breakthrough in allowing for undead reproduction without the need for you to take a partner as you’ve expressed!”
The demon’s voice would grow louder and more eager as he lead the king around the large facility before finally coming to the floor guardian’s desk where he pulled several files and handed them to his master and continuing their discussion.
“All that would be needed of you M’lord is a small amount of your bone marrow as a blueprint…in order to create a genetic copy of your own being…a young Lich whom you can mold in your image. And if it was so desired, we may also utilize the marrow of a hypothetical secondary party to introduce new attributes. In either case, we have successfully managed to develop a method to draw a line of succession for you M’lord~! I do hope that our efforts have produced results that are to your satisfaction_?
The demon floor guardian would loop up towards the Sorcerer King from his bow, looking up in measured anticipation as awaited the ruler’s reaction to the proposal-
