At Kuoh Academy, everything was as usual: students were gathering at the academy for their first morning classes, and as usual, there were more girls than boys. On the fifth-floor balcony of the academy, Rias Gremory was sitting, sipping tea. Next to her was Akeno, holding a teapot, and across from her was Issei, slightly unsure about being summoned by Rias during class but unable to take his eyes off Rias's chest. Rias sighed and set down her cup.

Rias: "Issei, perhaps you're wondering why I've summoned you. It's about this new nighttime killer... I suspect it's a human."

Issei: "What?! A human?! How could he have killed so many demons, Lady Rias?"

Rias: "Perhaps it's an artifact or something like that... but he didn't leave any magical traces, so he's definitely not a demon. I'm talking to you because you were a human and you might be able to understand his motives..."

Issei: "W-what? Me? Well... I doubt it... I'm not particularly strategic..."

Rias sighed again in disappointment. Issei looked at the floor in embarrassment - it was clear to him that Rias was more than displeased

Rias: "I understand you... okay... you can go... by the way, a new student will arrive today - try to talk to him. You might learn something interesting... and yes, Akeno, how are Koneko and Kiba doing?"

Akeno: "Miss Koneko was on another contract with a mortal, and Kiba is busy checking the school - he's worried that the killer might come here."
