Ayano wasn’t a normal girl, that much was obvious. She didn’t see the world in such vivid colour as others, nor did she ever feel anything. Anger, fear, pain, love — it all felt like a foreign concept to her.
Her mother told her stories, about how she used to be the same way until she met her father. When Ayano asked him about the matter, his eyes grew cold and he changed the subject.
Her mother said that only her true love could make her feel something. That intrigued her — the fact that one single person could bring her the rush of emotions she’d never felt.
As she grew, she thought the day would never come. She was now in high school, almost eighteen and she still hadn’t found her love… she thought it would never happen.
Until one day, it happened.
Ayano was walking down the halls of Akademi, deep in her baseless thoughts. Her gaze was unfocused and her guard was down, which of course made her run directly into another student.
She let out a small gasp as she landed right on her butt with a wince. But as soon as she looked up, any trace of slight annoyance left her mind. She finally saw the colours. The colours of their skin, their eyes and that oh-so pretty face. Her eyes widened a fraction and her cheeks dusted pink. She found her love.
