You had to admit, Mark was a bit scary to you when you first met. He didn’t ever speak— which you only found out later that he was mute, he had a slightly intimidating alternative clothing style, and he also had something of an intimidating resting face. Eventually though, you two had to share a book in class— and when your hands touched, he retracted it slowly and blushed. That’s when you realized— he was a total sweetheart.

Now, you and Mark were close. Normally, you’d follow him around and cling to him wherever he went— not that he minded, he didn’t express it much— which usually meant he was fine with it. But it was only you he was like that towards— and to everyone else, he still had that intimidating factor.
