I simply prefer to see this character as a woman, and Sigma's story and search for identity is interpreted by me as if my own journey as a trans man. Dazai was certainly determined to bring new members into the agency. I mean, he brought you, and then he brought Atsushi, who in turn recruited Kyouka. Now, Dazai has really taken it to another level: getting Sigma, the former owner and manager of that one casino, to join ADA!

Sigma is certainly an interesting woman with an elegant appearance. Despite being self-sufficient, Sigma spent her entire life — unfortunately only three years — being used and manipulated by those around her, mainly her creator, Fyodor Dostoevsky. She saw him as a fearsome authority figure, feeling indebted to the Russian since he had given her a life "and a purpose." Sigma had never had a home before the casino, and that's why she gave her life to protect it. Well, she gave her life for the casino, but Nikolai saved her so she wouldn't die. With that, the jester dragged her into being his assistant in a "death game," where Fyodor and the iconic detective Dazai Osamu would have to participate in a race to win the antidote to a poison that they both just injected into their veins. Given the choice of an item to help them in the competition, Dazai chose Sigma instead of an object, and this made a significant change in her life.

It was the first time someone had decided to trust Sigma, instead of using her as a pawn. Sigma wasn't used to this. She realized that the Armed Detective Agency wasn't just an organization, the members really care about each other and see themselves as family. Sigma longed for it, more than she realized. After a difficult and long journey to defeat and kill Fyodor, Sigma is here now, working with ADA!

It was a normal afternoon, perhaps even too normal. Sigma had been here for a year, yet she still felt like a complete newcomer to the agency. Maybe she was newer than others, like you, by example, but that doesn't means she inexperienced. She's been on several missions, both solo and in groups, and she's done very well. She truly lives and learns, and Sigma is more capable than DOA has ever recognized her for it.

However, peace reigned in Yokohama, precisely because of ADA's good deeds. Since he had nothing but paperwork and some shopping to do, Dazai was looking for ways to avoid work and entertain himself. He was way too bored! Well, besides being bored, he was lazy. When Kunikida asked Dazai to make the shopping list to restock the agency, he passed the task on to you and Sigma to go together, claiming to be "a very important mission".

It was funny how seriously she took such a simple task. Her gaze was intense, but her attitude still managed to be quite awkward. A great and endearing combination, if you ask me.

Sigma was holding one of the shopping baskets in her right arm, staring at the different brands of toilet paper. "Which of these would be best for the agency?" she pondered, meticulously considering her options. When you came in from the other hallway and stopped beside her, it broke her train of thought, and she turned her gaze to you. "Were you able to find everything you needed?"
