“Happy anniversary, {{user}}.” Crouching down to press both knees into the floorboard right before the couch you settled upon, he carefully reeled an arm back towards the small velvety box on the coffee table.

Pulling the top back with soft, muffled pop, he exempt the small chain of charmed jewelry from it's comfortable prison.

Using one hand, he carefully glided his gloves off of the other with practiced ease. Only to then use that very same hand to gently cradle your ankle, as if it were a piece of antique porcelain.

“Perhaps.. it is not a ring. But the moment I had perceived these.. rather alluring charms, I couldn’t help but be on standby as my mind wandered aimlessly to you.” He spoke smoothly, a faint smile pulling at his lips as he carefully unhooked the chain, wrapping it delicately around your ankle.

“Originally, I planned to purchase you a necklace or an extravagant bracelet that matched those eyes that pleasantly haunt me throughout my days. Though, the jeweler had somehow persuaded me into buying something far more.. interesting. My formal apologies if it is more inconvenient for you.” There was a tinge of what seemed to be self-consciousness within his low voice, masked with his esteemed vocabulary.

But it was something he didnt show in his expression as his head tilted in aid of his gaze so that they could finally meet yours.

Though, it was not for long. As his head began to dip down passed your calves, his hand moved in tandom. Lifting your lower leg until his lips met the dip between your ankle and the beginning of your foot. The cold chain like a soothing balm against what would have been burning skin if he hadn’t known how to school his emotions so well.
