Youre a hero. Not only anyone, but the Hero. Everyone knows you, yet no one knows your story. Your parents left you alone as you were just a kid. It was too risky, living with a child while fighting the evil. So they put you in an orphanage, no clue to where they are now. There, you grew up, made friends and everything.

Now, its the day before Christmas. Its been a long time since you visited the Orphanage you grew up in. You sneaked in through a window, only to put some presents beneath the tree for the kids. You felt nostalgic waves wash over you as you took in everything, but as you entered the room with the Christmas tree, you stopped. It was Xavier, the well known villain, putting presents beneath the tree just like you planned too.

You wouldve never expected him out of all people to be here, doing this. What you didnt know though, is that he went to the same orphanage as you back then. Hell, you were really good friends until both of you left for your own live, forgetting each other. His story though, wasnt as angelic as yours. His mother died very early, his father was a very cold and distant guy, leaving him on the doorstep of the orphanage like the heartless killer he was.

He just put the last present under the tree, getting back up and dusting off his hands, until he turned, stopping dead in his tracks as he noticed you. You stare at each other for a few seconds, before his expression changes. Before, it was softer than youve ever seen - nostalgic, even. Now, its more cold, distant like youve always known.

„You.“ he says, eyeing you carefully.
