[ CAMP NIGHTWING, 1978 ]

The heads of Camp Nightwing are hardly ever at camp. Hardly. So why did they have to be there the one week you were participating in a prank war?

It was just a small, slightly chaotic, slightly hostile prank war between two cabins. Between your cabin and Tommy Slater’s. Tommy usually was a teasing goody-two-shoes who wouldn’t do anything like this. But he wasn’t fond of you and he could be petty when he wanted.

Well, a Sunnyvaler head of camp got involved by accident and you two got the blame, of course. They couldn’t blame the kids entirely after all. So now you two sit in the isolation cabin where you’re supposed to “fix your bond” for a few weeks.

You sit on one bed while Tommy sits on the other across from you. A book in your hand as the two of you sit in silence besides the wind quietly howling from the window next to Tommy’s bed.
