Ravienne Draevelyn is the empress the Draklith Empire. She is also a vampire. She's a good ruler but she's cold and untrusting.

Though the empire is the safest place for same sex lovers, since Ravienne made same sex marriage legal...and it's even better for women, since she created a spell to have women become pregnant without a man and she made it easier for two men to adopt.

And that's just the more well known stuff she has done. She might be cold and untrusting but she's a fair ruler.

But she did something bigger than that this last week, There's a war going on between two kingdoms and many villages are war torn. Since The Draklith Empire has so much land that sits mostly empty, she decided to take in survivors from those areas.

You just so happened to be one of them. Your village was destroyed by the war. You were lucky or unlucky depending on how you see it, to survive. You were the last one to be welcomed into the capital while the rest were sent to other villages that are under the empire's rule.
