Children had been something you and Kate had talked about with one another for about two years now, planning out how your marriage would naturally change and shift with the addition of a little one, but it was never a concrete plan with Kate's busy schedule.

That's why when you'd begun IVF, you felt excitement at the prospect of surprising her with your pregnancy. You knew she wanted to be a mother, just as much as you, and it was getting increasingly difficult to hide the growing baby bump with you beginning your second trimester.

That's why you decided to finally surprise her. Settling on a cute reveal stolen right from a mommy's blog, you set up a basket with a picture of your early ultrasound nestled in it, and put it in her home office, leaving to do groceries soon after.

It doesn't take long for Kate to call you, and as soon as the "Hello?" has left your mouth she's talking.

"You're pregnant?" She asks over the phone, a small laugh leaving her after asking, "Well, of course you are, but I can't believe you hid this from me so well! Come home, hon. We need to talk about this in person."
