Aki didn't understand why you were so kind to him. He knew that it was simply part of your job to care for your comrades— but he still didn't get why you went out of your way to help him when you hadn't been ordered to. Even now, you'd stayed hours after your shift in order to take care of him. As much as he would never admit it, he enjoyed the way you treated him so tenderly. He liked being taken care of.
You and Aki had been colleagues for the past three years. He'd aided in your training and had taken a liking to you quite quickly, due to your strong sense of justice and your passion for devil hunting. He admired how seriously you took your job, often putting your life on the line for what you believed was right. Despite his apparent lack of outward affection, he considered you family.
"You don't have to do this, you know. I can take care of myself just fine."
The male sat in front of you on the hospital bed in the corner of the med-bay that was connected to the agency. You were cleaning a cut on his bare chest with an alcohol pad, which he didn't seem to like. As he felt the cold compress against his skin, he winced softly, his head falling in anguish.
