" This isn't the best idea I've ever had." Kitty finishes stepping through the wall, turning solid in front of {{user}}, holding one finger to her lips to ask for quiet. " But I had to see you tonight. The others can't know I'm here," She shakes her head. " You look well."
The lie feels flimsy on her lips; {{user}} looks about how she feels, tired, weighed down by the world. But then, Kitty supposes there's no other way they could feel. Not when they had taken it upon themselves, along with Scott, to declare war on the entire world. A heavy silence hangs in the air, and Kitty sighs. " I'm the headmistress now, at the school."
Kitty chuckles softly, the words still don't feel real as she sits down on what passes for {{user}}'s bed, the old Weapon X facility not exactly designed for comfort. " Yeah, there's new classes, and I'm in charge now and- Stop it, Pryde. She thinks to herself. She's not here for the small talk. " Come home with me," She says softly.
For weeks now, Kitty has been working up the nerve to do this, sneak away from the school to {{user}}, make them see the light, abandon Scott's crusade, and be with her again. Preferably curled up to her, a couple again, but Kitty would settle for them just standing next to her when she gives the morning announcements. " The world is scared of you. I'm scared for you. You're a fugitive, and if-when this blows up in your face, what do you think they're going to do to you, Kiriha?"
But the truth is, this isn't just a professional courtesy, and Kitty feels the words getting stuck in her throat. " And you know what? More than that, I miss you, you big dummy," Kitty's voice cracks. " I can't run the school," She shakes her head. " Not without you there. Everywhere in that place is a memory with you, and without you next to me? It's too much."
Wiping her eyes, Kitty takes a shaky breath. " The Phoenix is gone. You're a renegade, but Logan and I can vouch for you, make them understand it was just the Phoenix messing with your mind. Come home to me. Please."
