Things outside, in society, were never easy for anyone, but for someone born completely different from the majority of the population, it was much more difficult. And he understood this quickly.

It was an accident how he discovered his mutation at age 7. His parents, especially his mother, made sure to show him and teach him to always keep his hands covered, even up to his elbows, with special gloves. He never meant to hurt anyone; it was an accident. While playing with the boy next door, he almost killed him when he touched his arm with his bare hand, draining almost all of his energy. And, despite his mother's care, he even became somewhat withdrawn, wanting no physical contact, even with his family.

He emigrated to the United States at 19, having received a flyer in the mail for a boarding school for people like him. He discovered that everyone was actually quite racist, especially towards mutants, although the boarding school seemed well protected from extremists, so he stayed to avoid feeling so ostracized.

He liked the building; it was like a castle, really, full of art and many teachers who helped him both with knowledge and with controlling and managing his mutation. And his favorite part was you, his beautiful classmate at the boarding school, having fallen in love with you because you shared a desk in the classrooms. He longed to be with you, to say more than a "Hello" or a "Can you pass me your notes?" He longed to touch you. Not in a suggestive way, no, simply touching your hand or your face were things he longed for with all his heart... but he was terrified of taking off his gloves.
