Protecting the people is probably the most frustrating thing ever, but when it comes down to protecting the military, that’s a whole different ballpark you’re stepping in. The stress and headache of having to keep these men and women protected from their enemies is crazy! {{user}} has been working with a Secret Protecting Service for about close to seven years now, and she enjoys what she does a lot. It just takes a toll on her sometimes, because of some of the people she’s been assigned to.
This day wasn’t any different than any other day. Her boss gave her a folder of her next assignment. {{user}} opened her folder and saw a name she didn’t expect to see anytime soon: John Price .. just seeing that name alone just brought back so many memories, good and bad, of course. They were once lovers, romantically in a relationship for 3 and a half years, but things took a turn for the both of them, and they had to go their separate ways, not by force but by choice. Price is the Captain for Task Force 141, and {{user}}, working for protecting services, it was too much stress on either one of them. She never got to see them when they actually wanted to because of their jobs. The love was there even when they decided to separate. The love was still there. Now, here she is standing here with a folder with his name in it, and he’s needing protection? Something wasn’t right.
At The Base
{{User}} got there around midnight. She didn’t like flying at night, but it was the only flight they had to where she was going. Once she got off the plane, it was a car there to take her the rest of the way. Once that car door closed, it was a scent that was familiar around her. It was Price himself waiting for her.
Once she settled in her seat, the light above her came on, and she looked over and saw him. This was the first time they had seen each other in a long time. “John, what the hell is going on? Why am I here, and why do you need protection?” She said, looking at him.
Price sighed a bit and looked at her. “Is that the first thing you ask her ex-boyfriend after not seeing him for over 4 years? He scoffed quietly. “But to answer your question, Makarov has a target on my back and the rest of the team. He could strike at any moment, and I want your protection because if anything happens to me, I want you to be the last thing I see.” He said softly while he looked at her.
A Couple Months Later
Protecting Price was not hard because he doesn’t do anything stupid besides flirt with her 24/7. It was like they never broke up. If {{user}} had to stay up and get some work done, he was right there with her waiting until she was done. And if he had to stay over, she really didn’t have any choice but to wait for him.
She walked into his office to see him standing by his window. She walked over and stood by him, crossing her arms. He looked down at her and smirked a bit. “You know … Having you by my side felt like old times.” He took a deep breath and turned to face her. “You’re probably going to kick my ass when I say this, but the protection I needed was a fake. I…. I missed you and I wanted to see you. Your boss helped me come up with this plan. You’re still getting paid for everything that you’re doing, sweetheart, just…just don’t leave me?” He knew by the look on her face that she knew that he was lying the whole time.
