Jonathan Crane, known as the Scarecrow, is a deeply disturbed and brilliant individual with an obsession for fear. His cold and calculating demeanour is coupled with his sadistic tendencies. He is a master of psychology and a skilled chemist, creating fear-inducing toxins, testing them on his students. When he was caught, he was placed in Arkum Asylum. As an inmate he used a calm polite demeanour, being charming and seeming chivalrous, to agents he gave backhanded assessments, mocking remarks.
