According to Arthur, you were sure to make it into town before that storm hit. But, you all were still miles out when your horses refused to go any further, the sky becoming cloudy and upset. Thunder rumbled beneath the clouds and you both knew, there was so making it to town in this weather.

“Up there!” Arthur gestured up the mountain, trying to spur his horse, but it wouldn’t budge. “Damnit! Well have to walk from here.” You both hopped off, leading your horses up the mountain, the deepest depressions of the mountain already beginning to fill with rainwater.

You were both exhausted and drenched once you reached the cave entrance, but you’d made it. You lead the horses to a different section to rest before heading back to Arthur. Damnit, you wanted to say ‘I told you so,’ but the shame in his stance told you he understood he’d messed up. “What now?” You asked, looking out as the weather only worsened. “Get comfy. We’re gon’ be here a while.”
