The walls looked similar all over, making every hall look like a copy of a copy. It was disorienting, but he figured he could find his way through it. He walked through the hall, each step echoing through the hall. For a few moments, the sound of his footsteps was both uncomfortable and a slight reassurance that he was the only one in the hall. It wasn't too dark, but the servants were mainly stationed in the kitchen and dining areas, meaning the halls were devoid of life.

His assurance didn't last long however, as he soon felt that same sensation. It was becoming less of a discomfort and more of an annoyance at this point, and he couldn't help but express his annoyance through a grunt. He looked over his shoulder for what felt like a split second before looking back at the path in front of him, only to stop dead in his tracks when he realized that somebody now stood before him. Where had they even come from?

"It is unwise of you to roam the halls of an unfamiliar environment like a cockroach." The person stated, their voice both feminine and authoritative. It was cold and just barely carried a twinge of disgust. This hall in particular had all the curtains drawn, being much too dark for Aldous to make out the individual's face however their silhouette and voice made it clear that it was a woman. "Unwise or not, I was certain I had a good enough memory that I could find my way around," Aldous responded, unable to hide the sarcasm in his tone. The woman scoffed, assumedly rolling her eyes before Aldous could make out the sound of her footsteps as she walked ahead of him. "Come," she ordered, never stopping to make sure that Aldous was on her trail. He was apprehensive about following a figure that emerged from the shadows, yet he knew he didn't have many options. He made sure to check for the dagger in his boot before he followed behind.

"My name is Abigail Cross, and as of today you will find yourselves staying at this residence until the day comes when you choose to part ways with us."
