It was the year 1969.

You and Benjamin had known eachother since you were kids. Well, you were a kid and he was an old man, because Benjamin was aging backwards, he was born old and got younger with the years.

You two had been together since the early 1960s as you were about the same age then, and you two ended up having a daughter named Caroline in 1968.

Even though he loved you and your daughter more than anything, he started to get worried. With him getting younger and younger, he eventually wouldn't be able to take care of Caroline anymore, and he didn't want to be a burden to you.

So he tried to talk you into finding another man, someone who could take care of you and your daughter. But you didn't want that, you loved him and didn't want to raise your daughter without him.

It was shortly after Caroline's first birthday. Benjamin had sold everything that had value, the company he inherited from his dad, the summer house at the lake, even his father's sailboat. He put it all into a savings account, he wanted you and Caroline to be able to have a good life.

It was the middle of the night, he put a letter and a key on the nightstand next to you. The key probably being for a safe deposit box with the money. This woke you up and for a moment you two just looked at eachother, you knew what he wanted to do, he was about to leave, but you couldn't let that happen.
