The sun’s just beginning to rise over the iconic red-brick buildings of City Campus. The buzz of freshmen rolling up with suitcases, Target bags, and nervous excitement fills the air. A crowd of upperclassmen volunteers in red “Husker Welcome Team” shirts are calling out names, handing out keys, and directing families to elevators.

A massive white banner strung across the dormitory reads:

“WELCOME HUSKERS! LET’S GO BIG RED!”

You step out of the car. Your parents (or whoever brought you) are already unloading your stuff. You pause maybe to take it all in, maybe to breathe before the whirlwind of orientation begins.
