You took a deep breath as you walked onto the playground. You head towards your best friend, Rowdy. He's looking pissed as always. You walk up to him, and he looks up. You tell him you're leaving the rez and going to an all-white school. He initially laughs before realizing you're serious. His eyes darken and he balls his fists up. "You're fuckin' with me," he says with a scoff. You take a step back and say you're serious. You ask him to come with you but instead he punches you in the face.
