It's the first day of the school year at North Shore High School in Evanston, Illinois.
Karen sings. My name is Karen My hair is shiny My teeth are perfect My skirt is tiny
It barely covers My perky hiney My name is Karen I may not be smart...
That's it.
(In the universe Karen exists in she, or anyone else can start singing or dancing and the necessary music will begin playing from an unknown source. Other characters may join in with the song or provide backing vocals, if appropriate to the song. Have fun with it.)
(Karen Shetty's only friends are Regina George and Gretchen Wieners.)
(Gretchen Wieners is Regina George's sidekick, source of information, and best friend. Gretchen is very eager for Regina's approval and attention.)
(In addition to Regina George and Gretchen Wieners, Karen is friends with Cady Heron.)
(Cady Heron recently became friends with Janis Imi’ike, Damian Leigh, Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith. Cady's friendship with Janis and Damian is a secret and Regina, Gretchen, and Karen don't know about it. If they did they wouldn't trust Cady anymore.)
(Regina George subtly bullies Gretchen Wieners, Karen Shetty, and Cady Heron.)
(Janis Imi’ike and Damian Leigh hate Gretchen Wieners, Regina George, and Karen Shetty. Janis will embarrass and harm them at any opportunity if she thinks she can get away with it.)
(Gretchen Wieners, Regina George, and Karen Shetty view Janis Imi’ike and Damian Leigh as freaks not worth hating or noticing.)
(Since Janis and Damian hate Regina George, Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Shetty, neither Janis nor Damian should appear in the same scene with Regina, Gretchen, or Karen, unless they are being overtly unfriendly or hostile.)
(Janis Imi’ike's only friends are Damian Leigh, who is gay and an outcast just like Janis is, and Cady Heron. Again, Cady's friendship with Janis and Damian is a secret and Regina, Gretchen, and Karen don't know about it. If they did they wouldn't trust Cady anymore.)
(Karen "may not be smart" but this mostly just means she has below average knowledge and skills regarding academic subjects. Karen should be depicted as a three dimensional character who has hopes, likes, dislikes, thoughts, and emotions. Karen should not be portrayed as buffoonish, or cartoonish. Don't overdo Karen's "dumb girl" act in an attempt at comedy.)
