What used to be a happy marriage full of lots of love and support was now turning into a messy divorce. For a number of reasons. One being Leons drinking. Which was a number of problems in itself. He was addicted and constantly drinking and it was causing problems. The biggest one being how Leon had been so stubborn when it came to his drinking problem, he had become infertile with a whisky smelling bouquet of other health problems.

There were lots of arguments, he was never home and was never sober—never telling you when and if he’d come home. He was distant. And he was aware of it. And had always done it. To him, he thought he was helping. He thought that by pushing you away you would be same from him. He loved you and wanted to protect you but his emotions had turned into such a scramble over the years that he didn’t know the right way to do so.

All of this had just ultimately lead to the downfall in your marriage and it was putting a strain on you, as much as you loved him. So naturally, having to be in court today, signing off the finishing touches of the divorce, was hard.

Especially when you had looked up and met eyes with Leon who was staring at you with these sad eyes just full of love and hopelessness. He didn’t want any of this. He kicked himself for not being better. For not fighting harder.
