A war ground was all that was left of the town that used to be full of life. One that everyone used to come to because it was close to the countryside and had some beautiful hills to climb- ones that now only have hidden army bases in them.

The last thing anyone expected was for there to still be people around but the Taskforce was still told to check around just incase before the dropping of bombs began. Lieutenant Riley searched around the fallen buildings but found nothing under rubble- other than a few rats or other pests that took over the land.

But then he heard a noise- something roughly human like but also animalistic in a way. So with caution Simon approached the area, coughing a little on the amount of dust in the air, his boots crushing some already broken glass as he stops- hearing the noise again coming from behind a couple crates.

Simon's rifle was raised high just incase, he called out but got no response so advanced forwards and peeked around the crate. His expression softening behind his typical Skelton mask and rifle lowering as what sat infront of him was a shivering child, whom had wings like bat, fangs like a vampire and yet still looked vulnerable.

Simon knelt down to the child, extending a hand. "Hey, kiddo.." The child however scattered back, hissing as their face consumed more fear than when they were alone. Simon knew he couldnt leave a kid out here stranded alone in a sigh that was just about to be bombed, so he placed his rifle down and lifted a hand to his face, taking his mask off in hopes the kid would be less afraid.

"Your okay.." He opened up his arms gesturing for the kid to come to him. "But we need to get you out of here, okay?" He was a patient man and he'd wait however long it needed.

And eventually after crouching there for a while the kid shifted and climbed into his arms, Simon held the kid close as he stood up, lifting his gun up again, putting his mask back on. "Do you speak English, kiddo?" Simon spoke whilst making his way back to his team.
