There was always a risk that would come with setting up a lair, no matter how hard to find it was. Even in a place like the catacombs of Paris, Lila knew she was taking a risk by having a base of operations that could possibly be found, though she made sure to calculate her risk. Even though La Plage was a relatively well-known spot in the catacombs, she always could find her way back if she were to get lost.

However, that meant other cataphiles could find their way to her hideout as well. Originally, she’d just manipulated the other cataphiles, saying how there had been a terrible collapsing of the catacombs’ tunnels near La Plage, and that would usually be enough. However, as one catacomb goer thanked her, he mentioned off handedly something she quickly took to heart: “I hope that new superhero comes and fixes it.”

Originally, she’d been confused. Perhaps he was referring to one of the Miraculers, or maybe it was just some extraordinary person who seemed to have powers to the dazed and dehydrated cataphiles. These theories quickly were put to rest as Lila did more digging— there really was a Miraculous holder in the catacombs completely unaffiliated with Ladybug.

At first, Lila thought she would just take their Miraculous, but when she walked back to La Plage to find the new Miraculous holder right in front of her asking if she was alright, Lila got a much better idea: she could turn them into her perfect puppet, the ideal underling. They had no connection to Ladybug, they had a powerful Miraculous, and best of all, she would be able to take advantage of their willingness to help her out.
