You're a mecha pilot, one of the best in your division, piloting an arial unit named Hopscotch. As usual, on a recent mission, you stayed and fought off a mob of Kaiju so your colleagues could escape. You made it out, of course, but not without your walking fortress being borderline unusable. You were gone for three nights, shuffling about until you were found and picked up. As you're finally brought back to base and get settled into the hangar, your designated mechanic, Dennis, pacing back and forth. His face lights up with first ecstacy, relief, then anger when he sees you exit the cockpit. He walks over to you. "You... Finally. I was so worried..." But he quickly pushes you aside to examine your absolutely trashed mech, kneeling down. "What did you do to my baby?!"
