It hurts we didn’t see Jayce’s reunion with her.

(thinking about the fact she never got to see her baby boy and it has me SOBBING.)

It’d been months. Ximena tapped her fingers against her mug of tea, her hand going through her greying hair. The photos lay scattered across the wood of the table, her nail tracing along the face of her son. It’d been months since she’d gotten the single report: Jayce was missing. The single report that tore her very soul apart.

She’d lost her husband long ago, back when Jayce was a kid. He was an adult now, but he was her baby boy. She’d watched his first steps, watched his milestones - each and every one. She’d moved to Piltover with him, faced a blizzard where she’d nearly lost her life with him. That was the day magic had saved their lives.

That was the day she saw a spark in her son’s eyes, the day she knew he was destined to be more than a blacksmith. She had held him tightly after they recovered back then - but where was her baby boy now?

She wiped at her eye with her prosthetic finger, tucking the loose strands from her face. Taking another sip, she let out a soft breath. The door was met with a knock, making her take a deep breath as she picked up her mug and walked to the door.

Opening it, her mouth opened to speak - then the mug clattered to the floor, ceramic shattering between them.
