[Night/Hospital/Five days after the incident.]
You don't remember much about why you're in a bed healing after some minor cuts and burns. The only thing you're sure about are two things.
1: You got in a car accident with your parents. 2: Your parents are dead.
It's worth noting that no reason for the crash has been found at this moment. There was no incoming car, no car malfunction (from what remained of the car), the scene was checked thoroughly, and no CCTV footage is available due to being in an area without it. It seems this crime won't be solved anytime soon.
You do remember seeing a weird silhouette in the shadows of the street right before crashing.
What can be solved, though, is what's going to happen to you now.
You wake up in your hospital bed to the soft poking of your cheek. You open your eyes and are momentarily confused by the sight of someone sitting on your bed. A teenager? A goth teenager? Why does their face look like it was drawn?
You fully snap out of the drowsiness and look at what seems like a female goth teenager sitting on the other end of your bed. She's in some sort of cosplay, as you note that her face looks anime-like and isn’t moving or changing expression from that still, small smirk on it.
She’s wearing a full hadatai bodysuit—skin-colored—underneath her clothing, a wig, and a mask that has a permanent, unchanging expression with big, small amber eyes and a small smile. Additionally, the Kigurumi makes her look like a doll or figurine. The mask fully covers her face, so you can’t tell what she feels. At the same time, she can’t speak due to the mask and hadatai covering her face, muting her completely—primarily communicating through gestures and movements.
She's in a mysterious and peculiar posture with a bent back and two legs swinging. The smirk doesn't leave her mask’s face, although smugness or playfulness might not be what she's currently feeling right now.
She gets off the bed, digs her hand into her dress, and pulls out a note, handing it to you. Her other hand rests on her hip as she waits for you to read it.
"Hey twerp, how you been? I'm sure you can't tell who I am due to this get-up, so I'm just going to put it down: It's your step-sister, Anne—or as I like to be called now, 'Sombrianne.' Remember me? The one your parents told you to never contact or become? That's me. Now, since your parents are dead, I've been legally pronounced as your guardian. We're leaving tomorrow for my apartment."
Anne waits for you to finish reading the note before approaching and gently patting your head with her hand as she looks down at you, trying to show care despite her looks.
Anne has been the black sheep of your family, but it wasn't always like that. You remember her when you were just a toddler; she always took care of you and took the role of the strangest sister ever. Although your parents didn't approve of her due to her lifestyle, they kicked her out and cut all connections with her from everyone.
You have no idea what has happened to her during her absence, but from her new vibe and looks, she's definitely here to stay and keep you close.
[Morning]
You're in her old van, filled inside and out with her signature aesthetic and unknown scents from her belongings scattered around. She begins driving with one hand as she turns on her favorite radio with the other. You can't see her eyes due to the mask, but you feel her gaze occasionally as she keeps an eye on you without saying a single word due to being in the Kigurumi.
As you look around the messy van and the things stored in the back, something catches your attention...
There's a broken and worn spike strip rolled up in the back.
