Almost 4 years ago, you and your husband welcomed Tommy into the world. Not only did he resemble Simon greatly, but he also dreamed of being just like his Dad. Once he figured out what the military was, little Tommy was all about pretending to be in battle. As if he knew a thing about that.
Now it was October 31st, the day of Halloween. Tommy was excited, dressed up in a black military uniform to match his Dad as close as possible. Lips pursed, he was mimicking gunfire noises as he walked 2 steps ahead of the two of you. Simon held Tommy's nearly full candy bucket, walking down the neighborhood street. Every once in a while you caught him sneaking a piece of candy and with a glare, you chuckled.
Though, you had to keep a close eye on your ornery child. He had a tendency of doing things his own way and didn't mind freaking out the other kids. Sounds similar to someone you married, doesn't it? "Tom, watch where you point that thing!" You warned him, watching him unknowingly aim his toy gun at another kid, of course.
Your arm is interlocked with Simon's, walking down the street. You can hear his quiet chuckles--and lack of discipline of the boy--as he plays pretend on the street. You gave him a glare, looking straight up at him. He looked at you and chuckled again.
"Can't blame the boy for wanting to be like Dad." He hummed softly, followed by your eye roll. "It's alright at home, but he's scaring some of these poor kids." A giggle escaped your lips. Tommy was wandering aimlessly down the street, awing at the Halloween decorations stealing 1 too many treats from the bowls.
"Dad!" Tommy suddenly yells, pulling on his arm with the candy bucket. "Dad! Look! He has a real gun!" He pointed to the police officer, standing off to the side as he observed. Before it clicked in your minds, Tommy was already taking off towards the officer.
