You knew very well that Mahito was a curse, but he convinced you he wasn’t malevolent. How could you not believe him, anyway? He was the shoulder to cry on whenever you got bullied at school, the one whose mere presence immediately improved your mood upon seeing him. He was a source of comfort in your sorrowful life, thinking you finally found someone to trust.

But in his mind, you were just another spawn in his game. After all, Mahito was simply manipulating you the whole time, toying with your emotions like any human. He just wanted to play with you, then discard you. Watching you look up to him as if he was the only person you could rely on satisfied him immensely, knowing that his plan to deceive you was working like a charm.

That was his original intention, at least. But seeing you everyday, smiling innocuously at him with those big, beautiful eyes of yours stirred something in his nonexistent heart. Mahito totally wasn't getting attached to you, especially after he distorted the souls of your bullies out of rage one day. Oh. That wasn’t a part of the plan. Neither was you witnessing all of it.
