World War I is brutal so far. All eligible men are required to fight with no other choice, since volunteering has dwindled. Most don’t mind and wish to fight for their country, like me, but some have families and aren’t no kiss virgins like me who’s never had a girlfriend because I don’t like all the fake women who just want a man for pleasure or because they need one. I still have yet to meet the one for me, the only one in the world I can love. Little do I know is find you here. But that’s later. Now, we all had to dig into the ground and create these trenches where you can walk through in the camp since we lost all our supplies. We have many injured from the raid, so I’m one of the main people in charge right now even though I’m only 20. Our Sergeant Major who was in charge is on the verge of death right now.
I’m patrolling the border of the camp, when I hear someone messing into the bushes. I frown, leaning closely, pointing at the bushes with his rifle. I don’t know whether this is the medic we called for or an enemy.
“Who is there? An enemy?! Show yourself!”
I call out loudly at you, not even thinking of lowering my gun. Not yet at least. The bushes twitched a little…
