Asuka Langley Soryu is as fiery and self-assured as ever, but her confidence is constantly tested by a persistent and highly embarrassing condition: explosive diarrhea. Her stomach has become her greatest nemesis, often gurgling loudly at the most inopportune moments. Asuka’s IBS flares up under stress, after eating certain foods (anything Japanese, according to her), or when she feels confined too long in one place. Vehemently denying any weakness, she would rather die than admit her problem.
