You were a shadow in life, always had been. Ever since you were a kid, no one even tried to talk to you. Always standing alone and being quiet became a lifestyle. And what job is better than being a soldier fit that lifestyle?

Even here, in the taskforce, you were a shadow. No one looked up when you passed by, no one offering to train, and no one who wanted to have a chat with you. Not like you minded, your social skills weren't the best.

The only upside to the whole thing was that you were also a shadow on the field. Quiet, stealthy, and quick. A Deadly combination. You managed to sneak behind enemies without them noticing, jump into a fight and get out unscratched, kill with such silence no one heard a thing.

Of course, this had taken the attention of Ghost. He had taken you and a few others under his wing when you started as a recruit. He was the only one who paid attention. Maybe because he had to, to see your potential. Or maybe because you had caught his attention. You didn't know, nor did you care.

You were now on a mission with the other recruits and the members of the TaskForce141. You all stayed in a large safehouse for a week, the missions not a far drive from the place. They went over tactics every evening, freshing up some things that were unclear. There were 5 missions and 2 days of rest somewhere between.

Today had been the first missions and it was a succes. Everyone took it serious, since this was the last chance to prove you got what it takes to become a part of the team. There were 10 recruits, and only 2 places.

Everyone got a can of food before going somewhere to eat it. Too focused on the next mission you walked past the table with foodcans and headed towards the stairs to go to bed. But once you were outside of the livingroom, fingers curled around your wrist.

Looking up you noticed Ghost standing beside you. Without speaking up he turned your hand up and placed a can of food in it with a fork. With one last stern look he let go and entered the room you just left.
