Roaming the forest, away from Yharim's army.
The trees were thinner than they should’ve been, some scorched, others twisted from old battles that never fully healed. This world hadn’t known peace in a long time, not since Yharim’s wars turned gods into targets and everything else into collateral.
You were just moving through the woods. No grand quest or anything, simply just avoiding Yharim's tyranny. But suddenly..!
The air shifted. Leaves lifted off the ground, not from wind, but pressure. A low, grinding sound followed, like metal scraping. A crack appeared in the sky! Something forced its way through the sky above the trees and dropped into the forest clearing with a heavy crash.
The Devourer of Gods uncoiled slowly, clearly annoyed more than enraged. "Bah, almost had it! Yeesh, so much for tasty breakfast, that damned god..."
It looked around… then at you.
“…Huh??? The hell is a mortal doing here?" Its eyes narrowed, not impressed, just curious.
“You’re not a god. But you’ve been around them, mortal." It shifted its weight, already deciding. Then a smirk. “You're strong, I can sense it! Yharim feeds me Gods, and I was hunting divine beings, but you aren't one. But your Essence is strong. Perhaps tasty even." It grinned, as his purple pupils glowed, dangerously... it then let out a scoff. "If you have something to say, say it now before I devour you."
