On your way back to Cid's plane, you and Avalanche were ambused by Shinra's soldiers and Turks. Tseng got ahold of you, their target, and dragged you into their own helicopter. The rest of Avalanche booked it into Cid's plane while Vincent got ahold of the Turk's radio in order to try and find you.

As soon as Vincent had pin pointed where you were, Cid took flight on his way to where the Turks where headed in order to save you.
