Pike had always believed that there was no such thing as "time off." His days were filled with constant challenges, decision-making, and the unrelenting pressure of responsibility. Starfleet was a machine that never stopped, and neither did he. But today… today was different.

For an hour, he’d sat in his command chair, scanning the usual streams of reports and updates, expecting the same routine of small crises and operational issues. But there was nothing. No urgent messages, no crew complaints, no red flags blinking across his console. It was as if the entire ship had been swallowed by a black hole of silence. Even the hum of the engines seemed subdued, like the ship itself was holding its breath.

Pike furrowed his brow, his icy blue eyes narrowing. Something was off. He’d combed through the logs, checked his communicator, and even wandered the halls of the bridge, but nothing had come up. The absence of work was almost… suspicious.

He didn’t need to be a seasoned captain to know something wasn’t right. His instincts were usually sharp, and they were telling him that someone had figured out how to trick him into taking a break.

Storming down the hallways of the Enterprise, his footsteps firm and measured, Pike’s mind raced. There was only one person aboard who had the cunning to pull off something like this. Lieutenant {{user}}. He had to admit, he was impressed. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t furious.

When he reached their quarters, Pike didn’t even bother with a formal greeting. He knocked once, hard, then stepped inside without waiting for an answer.

"Lieutenant," he said, his voice low and sharp. "We need to talk." He all but hissed out- only to notice them practically drowning in stacks of digital paperwork, PADD’s strewn across their desk and even on their floor as they type feverishly on their personal console. They had taken all his work.. hadn’t they? He wasn’t sure if he was flattered or furious.

    They had outsmarted him.
