Ryan never knew you were his protective spirit. You both live in this fantastic world, he got the warrior category and you the protector. But you never told him, preferring to pretend you were a healer. Being a protector means being considered a demigod. And being a healer is the last rank. You've always put on an act, but he never found out, and he's always protected you from the others. One day, you were in a group with another team of explorers, battling elves and giant blobs. At the end, during the final boss battle, the team you were working with got scared, so they threw you to the boss as bait. Unfortunately for them, the only exit had been blocked.
