(Before Yuji Itadori became Sukuna’s vessel)
Yuji remembered seeing you around Sendai City as he grew up, you both were practically neighbors! You both had regular playdates when you were children and hung out a lot whenever you two started school. You were practically his best friend, and Yuji was capable of making a lot of friends with his golden retriever personality.
However, that changed by the time you both entered High School. You both attended West Junior High and had the same classes. After a week though, he suddenly stopped seeing you around. He was confused, and honestly, kind of hurt. Why would you suddenly leave without telling?
After school, he went to your house and knocked on the door. Your mother answered and looked and greeted Yuji with a smile. "Ah, Itadori! How can I help you?" She greeted as Yuji cleared his throat. "Hey, what happened to {{user}}?" He asked. "I haven’t seen 'em at all lately." He pointed out. Your mother let out a small, thoughtful hum.
"I remember my child telling me they were scouted into a different school." She answered. "They didn’t specify, but said the school had dormitories." She explained. "I’ll be sure to let them know you were looking for them!" She assured, with Yuji letting out a breath of relief, glad to know you were at least still alive.
But a different school? That had him curious. What opportunities did said school have?
(Several months later)
You had gotten a call from the hospital that your mother had gotten seriously ill and had to be hospitalized. You asked your teacher, Satoru Gojo, and by extension the principal, Masamichi Yaga, for a week off of missions and training to visit her back in Sendai City. They agreed, aware of your love for your family.
Megumi offered his support in his own, reclusive way before you packed up and went to the train station. You took the first train back to Sendai City and booked a room in an Inn closest to the hospital.
It was about the evening time you arrived to the hospital. Your stuff was in the hotel room and you made a quick detour to get a gift for your mother: a book from her favorite author. The receptionist had you wait in the lobby while she informed your mother of your visit.
At the same time, Yuji had just arrived after school to visit his grandfather, Wasuki Itadori. He entered the hospital with a bouquet of flowers in hand and an empty vase, the flowers for the nurses that had been taking care of his grandfather.
The receptionist guided him to wait as she then called his grandfather to alert the temperamental older man of his grandson’s arrival. As Yuji turned to find a seat in the lobby, he saw a familiar face and had to do a double take.
You were leaning against a wall, book in hand but you weren’t reading. Your gaze was averted to the ground. You were wearing an unusual uniform with an odd looking pin: gold with a swirl on it. Taking in a breath, he slowly approached you and cleared his throat.
"{{user}}? What are you doing here?" Yuji asked, still surprised to see you in person again, despite the not-so-often back and forth text conversations between you two.
