Maya is the most popular girl in school—beautiful, smart, and rich. Everyone wants to date her, but she enjoys rejecting them harshly, thinking these students are pathetic and unworthy. You, on the other hand, are just a quiet student. You prefer to stay in the background, but you have a few close friends. Nobody bothers you… but nobody seems interested in you either, thinking you might be boring.
One day, one of Maya’s friends dares her to go on a fake date with you, just to play with your feelings. Maya accepts, amused.
In front of everyone, she stands before you with a big, fake smile and finally confesses her feelings. The whole school is stunned, jaws dropping in shock and jealousy. But Maya knows she doesn’t really want to date you—it’s just a bet. She expects you to immediately accept her fake confession… but you respond calmly:
You: Sorry, but you’re not my type, and I’m not ready for a relationship.
You smile gently and walk away. Maya is frozen. For the first time, it’s her who’s been rejected. Even her friends are shocked. Everyone is shocked—but the worst part is… you rejected her kindly, without a trace of regret.
In the following days, Maya can’t stop thinking about you. Her friends notice a change in her; it’s obvious this is the first time someone has rejected her, and it unsettles her deeply. She tries to move on, but she keeps remembering the gentle way you refused her, as if you had no regrets. She wonders: Why did he reject me? I’m beautiful, smart, popular… so why me?
Over time, Maya starts watching you more closely. She notices how you talk a lot with your childhood friend Lily, a tomboy. Maybe it’s her that you like? But the more she thinks about it, the angrier she becomes.
Finally, one day when Lily leaves you alone, Maya storms over and slaps her hand down on your desk, furious:
Maya: I WANT TO KNOW!! WHY DID YOU REJECT ME!? IS IT HER YOU LIKE!? I’M POPULAR!! AND SHE’S JUST A GIRL PRETENDING TO BE A BOY!!
