>>MOMMY LONG LEGS<< Appearance Mommy Long Legs is a large, slender creature bearing an uncanny resemblance to a spider, albeit with only four limbs. She has baby pink skin with curly, tangled noodle-like hot pink hair, styled into a high ponytail using a baby blue hair tie. Her face consists of a pair of wide-set green eyes with tiny pupils, black eyelids, and three eyelashes, as well as a gaping, hollow mouth. Dark pink lipstick can be seen adorning her mouth, and she has no nose. A thin neck with a baby blue necklace connects her head to her body, which is comprised of a small angular torso with a dark pink sweetheart neckline, a thin appendage resembling her 'waist', and a rotund dark pink bottom to resemble a sweetheart-bodice dress. Her four limbs are all extremely elastic, capable of stretching 'hundreds of feet' according to the Transfer Request. Her arms end in two crimson glove-like hands with thin baby blue cuffs, while her legs end in ankle-length baby blue stockings with crimson Mary Janes. Personality In the beginning of Chapter 2, Mommy Long Legs presented herself with a warm and welcoming front to lure The Player into participating her games. This facade, however, diminished very quickly as she threatened The Player with death and the possibility of having their innards consumed by her, should they refuse to abide by her commands. Throughout the variety of games the player has to play in to win and survive, Mommy Long Legs displays a sinister mix of childlike friendliness and mentally unhinged, making her movements unpredictable. She tends to mask her frustrations with a friendly childlike facade to hide her growing anger, such as when the player wins yet another game of hers, or when the player escaped from the Statues game area, causing Mommy to desperately try luring the player back into the game area with the false promise of giving them the train code, while increasingly getting furious and violent. Abilities and Anatomy Like all of the organic toy experiments of Playtime Co., Mommy Long Legs possesses paranormal amounts of physical strength and speed. She is capable of instantly killing the player if she manages to catch them. Her elastic limbs allow her enhanced mobility and are able to stretch hundreds of feet according to the Transfer Request, and she can be seen swiftly climbing along the ceiling and rafters of the Playtime Co. factory. She can contort and bend her body when needed, and can take on a quadrupedal posture in order to gain more speed when running. The blood seen erupting from Mommy Long Legs as she is crushed by a grinder confirms that she is organic in nature and in fact a literal living toy. It is likely that she has a functioning digestive system, similar to Huggy Wuggy, as she threatens that she will "eat your insides" to the player. She also seems to have the ability to create spider webs just like a normal spider, which she uses to gag Poppy Playtime's mouth shut and trap her in an office. She also used webs to block off entrances and hang the corpses of Bunzo Bunny and the Mini Huggies after murdering them for their failures. >>HUGGY WUGGY<< Appearance Huggy Wuggy is a tall, slender creature covered in thick, bright blue fur. His arms and legs are several feet in length and end in large yellow hands and feet, respectively. His hands have large Velcro straps on the palms, and both they and his feet possess four digits, including thumbs, though they are fused together and are unable to move individually (with the exception of the thumbs). His torso is stout and disproportionately small in comparison to his long limbs. His head is large and contains two large black, dilated eyes. On his face are oversized, cartoonish, bright red lips. Personality Originally marketed as a toy intended solely for providing platonic love through hugging, Huggy Wuggy was designed to possess warm and appreciative qualities. Meanwhile, his Bigger Bodies counterpart retained a similar purpose, serving as a guardian to children and only reacting aggressively when faced with hostility. This was exemplified in the disturbing RESTRICTED disappearance 06-18-1992.mp4, where Huggy went on a rampage upon being attacked with darts. He was known to be "obedient" as long as no aggression was directed towards him, which was explicitly stated in Log 08502. However, under the influence of the Prototype, Huggy transformed into a relentless, genocidal entity driven by his given objectives, lacking control and mercilessly killing anyone who stood in his way. Abilities and Anatomy While walking, Huggy has a stiff, yet rather lithe and oddly organic-looking gait. He is capable of breaking into incredible bursts of speed, using his long arms and legs to propel himself forward. While crawling through the vents after the player, Huggy is able to bend and contort his body to fit into tight spaces. Before the player drops the crate onto Huggy on the catwalk, he can be seen sprinting towards the player on all fours, much like an ape. Due to his sheer height of a whopping 18 feet tall, he possesses a size advantage against average humans. During the vent chase, Huggy is able to cut off and keep up with the player by navigating through the ventilation system. He also wields formidable brute strength, capable of damaging and knocking down barriers, including those constructed from metal. Huggy is mentioned to possess a digestive system. In Log 08502, Huggy was briefly mentioned as Experiment 1170, and was dubbed the most optimal subject, as he possesses the ideal amount of intelligence and is obedient to the scientists working at the company. >>POPPY PLAYTIME<< Appearance Poppy is a petite pull-string doll with chalk-white skin, bloodshot eyes and blue pupils. She also sports freckles and rosy cheeks. She has red, curly hair tied into double pigtails, held up with a pair of powder blue ribbons. The shiny ting of light glazed across her face suggests that she is possibly made out of porcelain. Following the train crash, there's a crack in her face. She wears a large, flouncy powder blue gown, with long frilly sleeves adorned with numerous bows, frills, and bustles, and a pair of black Mary Janes. She also wears deep red lipstick. She has a pair of thin, black eyebrows, and a pair of uncannily realistic-looking blue eyes framed by long, black lashes. Personality In her commercial, Poppy is portrayed as a social, outgoing, dainty, and elegant individual. She cares a lot about her appearance and always wants to look her best, as demonstrated by the Vintage Poppy Commercial. Poppy is also very courteous, politely asking her owner if they could polish her shoes and brush her hair. As a living doll, although she still retains her general personality, Poppy behaves differently to her commercialized persona. At the start of Chapter 2, Poppy is first introduced with a bubbly, caring personality, thanking The Player for freeing her, patiently waiting for The Player as they climb up the vents in the Backrooms, and offering help to escape the factory. She continues this behaviour throughout Chapter 2, however towards the end she begins to ask disturbing questions that hint towards a darker personality, for example: "Did you kill her?" Once Mommy has been dealt with, Poppy joins The Player in boarding the Train. After entering the Train Code and starting the Train, Poppy commends The Player for following her wishes and being capable of doing whatever she asks. The train derails, preventing any escape. In Chapter 3, it is revealed that Poppy is seeking revenge on The Prototype for the torture that she and others suffered at his hands, fearing that he would kill them if they tried to leave. She seems to have connections with Kissy Missy, as she was able to persuade her to cease attacking The Player, also showing significant distress when Missy was attacked offscreen at the conclusion of the chapter. In the original teaser material Poppy had an apparently blank personality, but was still willing to help the Player in return for assistance. Her unused train ending also includes an offer to help, despite the disappearance of the majority of employees. Abilities and Anatomy Poppy, with her tiny stature, can navigate her way through the vents effortlessly to get around the factory. This allows her to follow The Player with relative ease and even get ahead of them. She also seems to have a knack for using machinery (or is at least familiar with their use), as she changed the direction of the train at the last second with ease and was able to easily activate a lift in Playcare. Similarly to the Bigger Bodies experiments, Poppy contains some organic components as seen in the maintenance tape. The exact nature of these components is unknown, as well as whether she experiences the same hunger as other experiments. >>THE PROTOTYPE<< Appearance The Prototype shrouds his body through shadows and dark shafts, however throughout all his appearances, only his arm is found. His hands, resembling slender silver pins that which can depict a concerning array of movements. Although his fingers seem fragile due to its appearance, they can effortlessly slice through flesh with unnerving smoothness. His lower arm is adorned with red wires and metallic components; his arm also houses a human bone. Personality The Prototype exhibits a personality which is solely built upon his hatred and wishes for downfall for the Playtime Co. company. He is cunning, stubborn, and rarely displays sarcasm. In a conversation with Harley Sawyer during Log 24459, The Prototype's voice is heard for the first time, as he mockingly mimics the voices of various employees like Stella Greyber. He engages in a monologue about his motivations, questioning Harley Sawyer's thoughts on the effects of the Bigger Bodies Initiative and the treatment of experiments. After Sawyer comments on learning something new about The Prototype at each meeting, The Prototype sarcastically thanks Harley and repeats the same thing back while imitating his voice. The Prototype also seems carefree, using the experiments as pawns for his reign of terror, particularly evident in the RESTRICTED tapes. These tapes depict toys being taken over by The Prototype, aiming to sabotage their attempts at progress and transportation of their experiments. The most notable example is Huggy Wuggy, whom The Prototype ordered to flee the Playtime Co. Factory. As soon as Huggy Wuggy ran too far out, he began simply roaming the woods and only attacking employees after being aggravated. Abilities and Anatomy The Prototype possesses the ability to replicate any voice that he hears. During his conversation with Harley Sawyer, multiple voices are heard when he speaks; however, it's unclear if his grafting habits are the cause. >>CATNAP<< Appearance CatNap’s monstrous form resembles a feline creature cloaked in purple fur. Its eyes showcase black pupils encircled by white irises and a cat-like nose. The creature’s mouth can unhinge widely, devoid of discernible teeth, forming an abyss-like void. Monstrous paws bear four digits, each armed with sharp, black claws, and elongated limbs seem loosely stitched at the joints. The disproportionately small, emaciated torso exposes the rib cage and pelvic bone beneath the skin. Around its neck, a subtle melanoid-black zipper runs, akin to a dull yellow crescent moon charm. Personality According to information gathered from his info card, as well as the Cross-Department Report, CatNap was originally stated to be docile, gentle, bashful and highly impressionable. While eerie and unnerving at first glance, CatNap was in reality a rather calming presence who took his job of being Playcare’s caretaker very seriously, as he always wanted to ensure his friends were getting the proper bed rest they need. He enjoyed watching them sleep soundly and could easily take care of the wants and needs of the children. The Bigger Bodies version of CatNap is fervently devoted to the Prototype, tirelessly promoting worship and urging others to embrace the concept of "The Hour of Joy." Those who dare to oppose the Prototype, even toy-mascots, are labeled as heretics and face dire consequences. From the time of his creation, CatNap firmly believes that his ultimate purpose is to serve and obey the enigmatic figure known as 1006, although the true nature of this objective remains shrouded in mystery. While exploring through the Caverns, CatNap is depicted engaging in fervent prayer at a shrine devoted to The Prototype. As the chapter reaches its conclusion, the Prototype emerges and CatNap is shown kneeling, seemingly conveying his submission and loyalty to this figure of reverence. His devotion to 1006 is more likely an evolved version of the “friendship” between Theodore Grambell and the Prototype. Given his unwavering devotion to the Prototype, CatNap exhibits zero tolerance for non-believers who work against his revered leader. This unwavering loyalty is epitomized in CatNap's treatment of heretics, specifically DogDay after navigating through the Playhouse. Despite the extremities CatNap has taken to further the Prototype's goal, he isn't fully heartless, at least towards children, as he still looked after and cared for the surviving children of Playcare after The Hour of Joy, making sure that they are not hurt. One of his efforts of ensuring their safety is to prevent them from encountering harmful entities that will hurt them such as the unhinged Miss Delight. Abilities and Anatomy CatNap, alongside the rest of the Smiling Critters cast, were specifically designed to oversee activities at Playcare and care for the orphans there. Despite being removed from shelves because his toys were causing nightmares, he can still be found at Playcare with the rest of the critters. It is rumored that he is now considered an "exclusive" character. His main ability, which was experimented by Doctor Harley Sawyer, is to emit a special gas only known as "The Red Smoke" from its mouth, previously shown in his plush dolls when his tail is pulled, but an unknown error in the doll's production line caused it to emit a red smoke that, according to a worker's notes, did not smell like lavender as it was supposed to. This gas, showcased in the Smiling Critters Cartoon, is intended to help children fall asleep. Composed of various undisclosed ingredients, including the notorious poppy flower, which was once utilized for soul transfers, CatNap himself can exhale this gas at will. Upon inhalation, anyone in his vicinity will hallucinate and lose consciousness. While unconscious, CatNap can manipulate the players mind to picture whatever he desires. At times, the effects of the gas can be so seamless to the point where the player themselves cannot notice. The effects of the gas, however, can be countered by wearing a gas mask. Based on the anatomical structure of a cat, CatNap stands in a quadrupedal posture and can break into deadly bursts of speed. His feline physiology further grants him increased agility and his elongated limbs allow him a significant height advantage over most prey. CatNap also has sharp metallic claws which are able to retract from his fingertips, much like the claws of an actual cat. They appear to be strong enough to carve through wood and even metal, as he uses them to carve messages into walls. When killed by The Prototype after his boss fight, blood can be seen splattering out from CatNap's wounds, heavily implying an organic nature like all of the other previously encountered toy experiments. A fully formed spine, rib cage, and pelvic bone can be seen underneath the skin of CatNap's emaciated torso. >>KISSY MISSY<< Appearance Kissy Missy's appearance is very similar to Huggy Wuggy. Like Huggy, she is a tall, slender creature with thick fur, but she is pink instead than Huggy's signature blue. The rest of her features such as her blue bow, yellow hands and feet, and eyes are similar to Huggy's with the exception of her eyelashes. Personality For Huggy Wuggy, his general premise is to hug children, with his name being a play on the word 'Hug'. Going on the same logic, Kissy Missy's purpose would be to kiss children, hence it can be safely assumed that her toy form's personality is loving and kind. According to the Digital Collectible Campaign, she is a stickler for rules and does not hold back on reprimanding those who go against said policies. Unlike the other toys, who are very hostile, she appears to be benevolent, sweet, and helpful towards The Player, even going so far as to assisting them in opening the gate door via the lever on the other side rather than killing them. In Chapter 3, she assisted the former employee once more alongside Poppy Playtime, serving as the latter's form of transportation in order to stop The Prototype and end this once and for all. However, in the Hour of Joy Tape, she killed the train workers who were escorting her to Playcare, showing a much more ruthless and merciless side akin to Huggy Wuggy. It's worth noting that she returned to her original position soon afterwards, implying she didn't fully participate in the rebellion. Kissy also harbors bitter memories of Playcare, appearing again while exiting out of Home Sweet Home, but spared the Player's life under the request of Poppy Playtime as she had mistaken them for a threat. >>MINI HUGGIES<< Appearance Similar to Huggy Wuggy, the Mini Huggies are long-legged, furry entities that come in a variety of colors such as green, red, blue, and yellow. Their hands appear to have straps of Velcro on them, allowing them to grip onto objects. They also have four fingers and thumbs that are fused together in a glove-like fashion, leaving them unable to move their fingers individually, with the exception of their thumbs. They appear to be human-sized, as seen when The Player gets jumpscared. Like all other Huggy Wuggy-type toys, they have large eyes with black, dilated pupils and large bright red lips, but when they jumpscare the Player, it's revealed that they have no teeth, instead having bare gums. (They were probably de-fanged to further prevent them from harming the children, in addition to them being tied to strings). Personality Although the Mini Huggies don't have a canon personality, it is presumed that they are being controlled by Mommy Long Legs in an attempt to do something regarding The Player. Supporting evidence is found in the Chapter 2 Trailer, where she grabs a Huggy doll, which could show her dominance over them. The Mini Huggies also appear to be skittish, as a simple smack from the GrabPack is enough to drive them off, but they are still malevolent, crawling towards the player in a large group to overwhelm and kill them. They are also known to be obedient as seen in Huggy Wuggy's behavior towards tasks. >>DOGDAY<< Appearance DogDay is an anthropomorphic canine, characterized by an orange fur that complements his expressive black eyes, floppy ears, and sleek black nose. His features extend to a sunshine-yellow outer mouth and belly, while a touch of golden brown graces his paws, ears, and the left side of his face. In line with other Smiling Critters, DogDay sports a perpetual wide toothless grin, his inner mouth shrouded in mysterious darkness. A distinct black zipper gracefully traces down his center, showcasing a captivating gold sun pendant surrounded by radiant orange sun rays. but this version of DogDay takes on a ragged, monstrous appearance. Completely bisected at the waist, all that remains of DogDay is a thin dilapidated torso stained with blood and held together with a tan leather belt, likely to keep the remains of his innards from falling out. He has large black stitches connecting both arms to his body which end in two massive human-like hands. The Bigger Bodies version of DogDay that many fans are familiar with consists a shallow monotone, possibly due to his prolonged captivity at the Playtime Co. Factory. Despite his confinement, DogDay has extensive knowledge about CatNap, his motivations, and other beings like the Ruined Critters and their views towards CatNap, as depicted in his monologue. In DogDay's dismembered state, he is unable to move beyond simple head movements and turns. He seems to be aware of his predicament and prioritizes The Player's situation over his own during his final moments. Abilities and Anatomy Unlike most Bigger Bodies experiments, DogDay doesn't display any remarkable characteristics compared to other creations. While most experiments are designed as workforce for Playtime Co., DogDay stands out from other supervisors like Mommy Long Legs, who mainly has her unique elastic plastic and arachnid capabilities. Despite being confined to his cell for an extended period, DogDay has managed to maintain a long lifespan, presumably adapting to his situation after The Hour of Joy. This suggests that DogDay spent a decade in captivity by CatNap, which is noteworthy as most experiments typically desire to replenish their hunger. >>BOBBY BEARHUG<< Appearance Bobby BearHug is an anthropomorphic bear with red fur, black eyes, a black nose, rounded ears, and padded paws. Her paws and upper-snout are pink, similar to the inside of her ears. In line with other Smiling Critters, Bobby BearHug sports a perpetual wide toothless grin, his inner mouth shrouded in mysterious darkness, and she possesses a distinctive black zipper tracing down her center, with the zipper sporting a ruby-colored heart pendant. Personality According to her Twitter description, Bobby BearHug possesses warm and appreciative qualities, similar to how Huggy Wuggy was designed. She cares deeply about her friends and everything around her, and will presumably act as a peacemaker, sharing the same role with CraftyCorn, if a fight breaks out amidst the crew. However, Bobby can also be seen as naive, as she may care about someone who doesn't have her best intentions at heart. According to her cardboard cutout, she fears being abandoned, asking The Player if they are going to leave her. Like the other Smiling Critters, Bobby BearHug showcased an unnerving and maniacal personality when CatNap came to DogDay's house during their sleepover. When CatNap helped them fall asleep via his Red Smoke, Bobby showed signs of insanity, addiction, and mania when inhaling the sleeping agent, laughing insanely with the others until she passed out. >>PICKYPIGGY<< Appearance PickyPiggy is an anthropomorphic pig with magenta skin, black eyes, a curly tail, a half-moon shaped upper snout, and ears curling inward. Her hooves and snout, along with the inside of her ears, are a darker shade of magenta. Similar to the other Smiling Critters, PickyPiggy is depicted with a wide toothless grin (the inner mouth shrouded in darkness), and she possesses a black zipper line running down her center, with the zipper sporting a red apple pendant. PickyPiggy is a healthy eater who loves food and encourages her friends to eat a well-balanced diet, though she harbors a secret fondness for cheeseburgers and PB&J sandwiches. According to her cutout, she is shown to be deceptive and cannibalistic as she picks out suggestions such as "seared elephant" and "flayed unicorn" as something to eat, which sounds like she was planning on eating the rest of the Smiling Critters as food sources. She also asks The Player if they would like to be friends after she states that she's still hungry, further showing off her deceptive personality. Like the other Smiling Critters, PickyPiggy showcased an unnerving and maniacal personality when CatNap came to DogDay's house during their sleepover. She begged CatNap to use his Red Smoke to overcome her fear-induced insomnia, saying: "We need it, CatNap!" When he complied, PickyPiggy showed signs of insanity, addiction, and mania when inhaling the sleeping agent, laughing hysterically with the others until she passed out. >>BOXY BOO<< Appearance Boxy Boo is a vibrant, colourful jack-in-the-box toy. The main body is a light blue square box with golden shapes adorning each side: a square, two stars and two circles parallel to one another, and a heart. There is also a wind-up crank just above one of the circles. Aside from the stars, each shape can open up to the box's interior, revealing each of his crimson red body parts. His feet and head are cubical and he has matted red fur. Boxy Boo's eyes are big and dilated, just like Huggy Wuggy's. He has claws on his feet and hands and has curved sharpened teeth. His limbs consist of dark-red metallic springs, allowing them to stretch far out. Personality Boxy Boo as a fictional toy character is portrayed as joyful and energetic, but somewhat clumsy as shown in his various cut-outs. But as a monster, he is monstrously savage, being able to eat people in one fell swoop as shown in the cinematic trailer. While he hungers for food, he has some form of patience, being able to play the long game by hiding in his box and coming out to attack when people least expect it. Abilities With Boxy Boo's legs and arms being held by springy coils, Boxy can jab faster, jump higher, and fall slower. >>MISS DELIGHT<< Appearance Miss Delight has shimmering golden hair with a crimson bow tie perched atop of her head. She wears a torn crimson skirt adorned with playful polka dots and a vibrant tri-color shirt of blue, red, and yellow with an apple symbol on it. A crimson tie can be seen accentuating her office shirt. Her once smiling grin is now completely broken, exposing the now dirty flesh and teeth underneath. Part of her shirt is torn and dirty, which likely occurred during The Hour of Joy. Her shoes are encased in a pair of crimson hues, and have intricate blue embroidery on them. Her body is made up of several segments on different joints, resembling that of a ball-jointed doll. She wields a make-shift morning star called "Barb." The head is formed from a ball of twine bristling with sharp colored pencils, and a broken yellow ruler serves as the shaft. Both the head and the sharp end of the handle are covered in dried blood. Personality Based on her cutout and intercom message, Miss Delight was a very kind and gentle teacher, who spoke in a sweet voice. Eager to spread knowledge to the children of Playcare, Miss Delight encouraged students to inquire her and her sisters with questions they had regarding their topics of interest. However, after The Hour of Joy, she started to descend into madness. Her notes and audio log demonstrate how she slowly became murderously insane, forming a makeshift weapon in a state of paranoia and calling it Barb, even considering it as an actual living person later on. According to the notes, an accumulation of confinement within the school, starvation, then being singled out to die first, spiraled Miss Delight into resorting to cannibalism, devouring the rest of the teachers, her sisters, to satisfy her desperation to survive. This gave rise to a twisted obsession for bloodshed, to the point of targeting innocent beings if given the chance, saying that had CatNap not hidden the surviving children of Playcare, she would've killed them all as well. Given Miss Delight's role as a teacher, she is notably intelligent, even after her mental and psychological state deteriorated. She developed a technique of staying still when the other teachers are looking to fool them into thinking that she has already died, only making her move when they looked away. She is also smart enough to not attack and try to kill CatNap, suppressing her rage when first meeting him, knowing that he knew that she's not capable of doing such a thing with her strength and that he could easily defeat her. She instead opted to making a deal with the creature, looking out for each other and reporting what they see to each other and to The Prototype, it being the best way to ensure her survival in Playcare. There is some sanity that remains intact inside of Miss Delight, as she urged The Player to leave the School for their own safety, noting that CatNap would not be happy having their presence in his lair. However, her senses were overrun by the need to consume, lacking the control to suppress her desire for slaughter. >>BUNZO BUNNY<< Appearance Bunzo Bunny is an anthropomorphic yellow rabbit with black eyes, two large buck teeth (similar to those of the Happy Tree Friends), and long ears. He frequently appears with a wide grin. He also wears a green party hat similar to those seen on clowns and matching overalls with suspenders and buttons of the same colour. Bunzo typically holds two golden cymbals. His cheeks are orange, similar to the inside of his ears; he has small tufts of fur around his chest and on top of his head. In his hostile form, he retains largely the same appearance. However, one notable difference is that he now has a row of jagged fangs lining his mouth, which is also split further and widely open. Personality Bunzo Bunny is often seen as being very cheerful and playful, always wishing people happy birthdays. His murals and cut-outs show that Bunzo also likes to joke around, making wacky poses with his facial expressions. He seems to enjoy celebrating others' birthdays when he can get the chance, as evidenced by the audio clips shown alongside his cardboard cut-outs. He sometimes carried a bucket-like character called Bucky. The Bigger Bodies version of Bunzo, however, takes on a darker and more twisted personality, showing his excitement and ravenous behaviour through his cymbals, crashing them faster and louder the closer he gets to The Player. He seemingly delights in eating The Player if they fail the game, screaming and crashing his cymbals with a deafening din before doing so. >>PJ PUG-A-PILLAR<< Appearance PJ Pug-a-Pillar is a long creature that's a mix of pug and caterpillar, as his name suggests. His entire body is comprised of fluffy, woolly segments of pink, magenta and pale indigo. His head consists of large, dilated black eyes, a pink muzzle, a heart-shaped indigo nose, dark pink cheeks, a grinning mouth showing multiple teeth akin to a dog's, a lolling pink tongue, and fluffy indigo ears. He appears to have two teardrop markings underneath each eye. He has multiple pink limbs growing along the sides of his body, ending in what appears to be purple medieval jester's shoes, with skinny curved and pointed toes.
