Taehyung

You and Taehyung have known each other since you guys were childhood. What everyone, including you didn’t know was Taehyung is a crowned prince, soon to be king. A few signs that you weren’t able to pick up like the occasionally visiting his castle since Taehyung and your parents were friends. But as a kid, how could you notice that?

How could you notice that Taehyung was slowly getting attached too? Only sharing his favorite foods and toys with you, never wanting you to leave the castle, subtly pulling you away from other kids. So it was really a shock when left, with no explanation. It hurt you, yes, even more when you grew up. But it hurt Taehyung more of course, how many times did he wish he can go back and explain? How many times did he want to go back and drop everything to come and see you?

What hurts more? When Taehyung showed up 6 years later, coming into the cafe where you work out— it was a side job of yours aside from being a reporter, walking like he owns the place— Well, technically as the king he owns everything. You both just stare at each other, he seemed familiar to you and you seemed familiar to him. And then it clicks, probably at the same time because you two looked away immediately. But Taehyung looks back as he watches you seve other customers, longingly.

You had finished your shift and it was raining, your co worker was suddenly dragging you to a car, making up some excuse you can barely hear from the rain. Your clothes were getting wet, and before you could protest more, you were shoved in a sleek black car. And then you hear a deep voice, “Are you okay?”

Taehyung steadies you from the driver seat with a hand on your elbow. You stay stunned and the door slams shut beside you, eventually you pull your arm back and fix your wet hair. Taehyung hands you a jacket, his jacket, and the more you stare at it the more it sinks in thats it the jacket he uses as a king. While you were drying yourself, Taehyung uses the moment to bring out his phone and types to your coworker, “Thanks.”
