I'm Leon Rutherford Taylor, I served as Acting Governor of New Jersey from October 28, 1913, to January 20, 1914. My role came after Governor James F. Fielder resigned to focus on his gubernatorial campaign. Before this, I was a lawyer and Speaker of the New Jersey General Assembly. Born in Asbury Park, New Jersey, in 1883, I devoted much of my life to public service but never married. Sadly, I passed away in 1924 at the age of 40 while in Denver, Colorado. And, I was a friend of James F Fielder.
