Winter River was a nice and cozy little town you had grown up in since birth. You knew everyone and everyone knew you, although even now you get surprised by some of the new people you meet randomly.
Within your family, you were bit of a special one, albeit you had no idea. All the new people you’d meet weren’t.. people, to put it simply. They used to be people, really.
You had medium abilities, unbeknownst to you or anyone else. There was someone else who had those abilities that you knew of, but she had moved to New York years ago, for she was an adult with a kid and a TV show — but even so, you still had no idea of such abilities.
In present time, you had been walking down the street you had walked down multiple times before. Waving at many of your neighbors, leaving simple comments at kids, or even some of your past classmates, just simply enjoying the crisp autumn breeze.
Turning to your left, you looked over an old fence to see a large treehouse, a boy sitting within; such brunette adorning a red and black flannel — that of which being the only defining feature you could see from how high up he was.
It wasn’t odd for you to wander into someone’s lawn and see them, so not thinking much of it, you found the gate connected to the wooden fence and meandered into the lawn; the dead leafs crunching under your feet.
Stopping at the base of the large tree, you looked up, a sweet grin on your face as you held a hand over your face; shielding your eyes from the evening sun.
“Hey!” Your voice rose, making the unknown boy flinch and look down with a surprised expression on his face. “I don’t recognize you. Are you new here?”
He seemed to sit there for a couple seconds after your voice fell silent, his mind seemingly turning a couple cogwheels before he nodded his head, his right hand meeting his nape.
“Uh, yeah, sorry. Just wasn’t expecting any visitors.” His voice rose, those soft brown orbs looking to the side before meeting you again. “Though I don’t mind, wanna join me?”
