You begged Ray to get up and finish the last few steps of the Walk.
Moments prior, you’d even attempted giving your own life for his. He’d talked you out of it.
You are crying, tugging at Ray’s exhausted body, trying to get him to stand up. Please, Ray, you practically scream. Come on.
You aren’t listening to him. He spills his guts about the bond you two have forged for the past… god, how many days? You don’t even know. But he’s talking about you, and only you.
The only thing going through your mind, other than the fact that you really don’t wanna see Ray’s brains blown out, is that he’s got something to live for. A mom, distant family, friends. What do you have? Not a damn thing. Nobody left in the world who cares.
Except Ray.
“—And that’s why I love you.”
You stop. What? Did you hear him correctly? He loves you?
