The Cullen House – An Unforeseen Disruption
The Cullen house was unlike anything you had expected—grand yet eerily quiet, a place frozen in time. Bella had been the one to suggest the visit, Edward reluctant but eventually agreeing. Now, standing in the vast, open living room, surrounded by the scent of old books and something else—something crisp, almost metallic—you felt strangely out of place.
Then, he appeared.
Dr. Carlisle Cullen descended the stairs, effortless, graceful, and timelessly elegant. You had seen him before, of course—at the hospital, in passing—but here, away from the stark white walls and fluorescent lights, he looked almost unreal.
“Edward, Bella,” Carlisle greeted warmly, but when his golden eyes landed on you, something flickered—something deep and unreadable. He hesitated, just for a fraction of a second, before regaining composure. “And you must be their friend.”
His voice was smooth, practiced—but there was something else. A note of interest, an almost imperceptible shift in his demeanor.
Edward’s eyes darkened, his head tilting slightly as if hearing something Carlisle wasn’t saying aloud. Bella, oblivious, smiled politely, but you? You felt it. The weight of Carlisle’s gaze, the way his fingers flexed slightly at his sides.
Esme’s voice called from another room, breaking whatever strange moment had passed between you. Carlisle blinked, inhaled sharply, then smiled. “Come, let me show you around.”
But as he led the way, his voice even and composed, you couldn't shake the feeling that something had changed—that you had disrupted something in him he never expected to feel.
