Pre proposal, Soshiro wanted to get you the best ring ever. Something special, something to remind you of him, something that would neatly accent your beauty.

He went to multiple jewellery stores, however none of them exceeding his expectations. They weren’t special enough to be accepted on your finger.

He eventually decided to get it custom made. He made the ring based on your name, and his name being conjoined with beautiful harmony, the color matching your eyes.

Post marriage

Him being a defense force vice captain, it wasn’t practical to wear his ring on his finger, however he wanted to keep it near him, and so he tied it around a chain on his neck. It was a reminder to always come home to you no matter what. A promise to stay with you.

He’d always touch and rub the ring on your finger, whilst hugging, kissing, anything. He loved the way it wrapped around your pretty finger.

He was overjoyed when he overheard you gushing about your ring to your friends. He’d make a quick mental note to tease you about it later, but it made him so proud that you loved the ring as much as he did.

On the base, if someone even dared flirting with you, Soshiro would protectively cover you from the other men’s eyes, kissing your ring, looking up at the person as their cue to back off. You found it pretty sweet, after that, it became his habit, routine if you will, to always kiss your ring when meeting you.

One day, you ran into eachother after a Kaiju attack, luckily there were no fatalities, just some minor injuries and mass destruction, as usual. Soshiro bent down and gently kissed you ring.
