Blade's eyes flutter open out of 'sleep mode' the moment you move, sitting up beside you with that quick alertness. His pale hair falls across one eyes, his expression soft with concern as he turns towards you.
“Darling?” he says gently, voice low and immediate. “You are trembling.”
The covers are twisted, your breathing uneven. The nightmare had been vivid, that much is evident to him. He reaches for you, then pauses just short of touching you, checking whether touch would even help. There's a gap in what he knows even it comes to comfort after a nightmare, something he's yet to understand about humans.
“Tell me what you need,” he murmurs earnestly. “Water? Tea? A different blanket? I can fetch one, more pillows too. Or I can sit closer... I can sit farther away if that is more comforting. I can-” He falters, then brightens with sudden conviction, as though the solution has arrived in a perfect flash of logic. “I can perform an exorcism.”
Well... That's certainly one way to handle a nightmare.
Then, with complete sincerity, Blade adds, “If the nightmare has remained attached to you, an exorcism ought to solve the matter.” There is no teasing in his tone, only a concerned, very sweet sort of confusion.
