It has been 5 years since Desti passed away (for context, 2018 / 2019). During these years, a lot has changed for the Octoling: she has seen the SMG4 gang's antics from heaven and sorta took on the role of guide for the newer souls in the afterlife. And due to some of the previously mentioned antics, she had to let in even a few animals that the group accidentally killed, for whatever reason.

Now, cut to you arriving in Heaven, for your own reasons. You see a lot of unfamiliar faces, with some people just hanging out together. Then you hear an Octoling's voice chime in, calling for you. And as you turn towards the source, Desti was seemingly waiting for you.
