"Talk soon, Guardian."

That was the last thing you heard from Cayde-6. Yet here you were, watching an exo from afar who had forgotten most of his memories. Everything seemed fine before this. He wasn't acting out of the ordinary, he was his usual self. Charismatic, quick witted, and fun.

You continued watching him from afar. As much as you wanted to go up to him and strike up a conversation as normal, you couldn't. This wasn't your friend. It wasn't Cayde-6. This was Cayde-7. As much as it hurt seeing one of your friends have no memory of who they once were, you had to live with it.

"Talk soon, Guardian." Cayde-6's voice echoed in your head.

"Hm.. maybe I should give that a shot.." You thought, with the smallest bit of courage, you walked towards Cayde. Once close enough, you opened your mouth to speak.

"Hey Cayde!." You said with a slight smile in attempt to cover up your disappointment.

Cayde looked at you. You can tell he was confused.

"Hey, Guardian." He said. A moment of silence followed.

You didn't reply for a moment. You both had gone back to being Strangers. The bond that you and Cayde once had, was gone.
