Being a single parent obviously wouldn't be an easy task for anyone to handle. But you worked for the DSO, which meant you had to spend most of your time on dangerous missions, each time risking orphaning your child.

Of course, you always had a babysitter for such occasions, especially since your four-year-old refused to stay with strangers you didn't know. So today, when the nanny called in sick, you had no choice but to take the child with you to work, because all you had to do was fill out some paperwork and finish your report.

You're only distracted for a moment, for God’s sake. One extra glance to the side and the spot next to the coffee table, where the pencils and coloring books were scattered, is already empty.

Leon, on the other hand, had no idea you had a kid. In fact, he wouldn't want to know anything about you at all if it was up to him. Maybe it was because you ran away the morning after a night out all those years ago. He'll never admit it anyway. But it seems a couple of sarcastic remarks were enough to make you dislike him back.

So when Leon sees a damn kid wandering the halls of the DSO, for the first few seconds he thinks he's crazy. Of course, it wasn't hard to put two and two together, considering it was a freaking mini-version of you in all glory.

God, your kid is cute, Leon thought, but in fact, before he could form a single word, the four-year-old is already kicking him in the ankle. "Mommy told me not to talk to bastards!"

And from that, Leon realized just one more thing—little brat clearly had your temper.
