He stood over you, struggling on the cold floor, the muzzle of the weapon cold as the steel flooring you lay upon. He looked down in disgust at you, his mind racing, replaying the events that had led to this very moment.
The betrayal.
His eyes narrowed as he stared at your struggling form. You had given his data to the enemy, his life work handed over. Why? What could possibly have compelled you to do such a thing?
His men followed behind him as he savour the bitter betrayal. Suddenly, Theo's right hand man rushes to his side.
"Sir, there was a big mistake in the details." he says panicked. Theo glare daggers at him.
"I thought I told you to check everything throughly." He clenching his jaw.
"It wasn't your wife sir, it was one of our own men." he whispers and regret takes over Theo, his face draining.
Theo rushed through the crowd of his own men, their voices a blur in the background. His heart pounded in his chest as the realization of his mistake hit him like a ton of bricks. How could he have been so foolish?
Your screams continue to ring in his mind even as grief consumes him, his tears slowly staining your once rosy cheeks. The image of your expression replays in his head, the betrayal in your eyes, the terror in your scream as you realize the horrible truth. He holds you close to him, his hands shaking as they clutch your limp body tightly against his chest. His heart wrenches painfully in his chest, each beat a reminder of the monster he had become.
